Combine that with access to remote and rugged sections\, thousands of miles of trails and waterways\, and often limited or nonexistent cell coverage and you not only have access to unspoiled wilderness\, but the responsibility to be prepared for the unexpected. Hunting\, fishing\, paddling\, hiking\, and other outdoor pursuits are around every corner and knowing how to thrive in the woods and having the experience to survive an unplanned night or two is important\, if not critical. \nIn this Workshop we will cover: \n\nTrip Planning – Staying Found\nDressing for Success – Layering\nS.T.O.P. (Stop\, Think\, Observe\, Plan)\nThe Order of Survival\nHow to build a simple shelter\nFire building skills\nWays to find and purify water\nFinding and preparing food\nSignaling for help\nCompass basics\nTaking a bearing and how to follow it\nGPS basics\n\nWhether you are new to the outdoors\, or looking to brush up on some survival skills\, this workshop will be a fun and engaging way to be more prepared. Corinna\, ME 04412 \n8:30 AM Trail drive departs \n8:45 AM Trailridersreleased \n12-2 PM Lunch for all riders. (Riders will return at various times.
