DESCRIPTION:Join the Skowhegan AmeriCorps Outdoor Recreation Program (SAORP) for a day of FREE skiing and snowboarding at Titcomb Mountain. SAORP will be offering FREE transportation and FREE gear rentals. \nThe bus will leave the Municipal Parking Lot in downtown Skowhegan at 9 a.m. and arrive at Titcomb Mountain around 10 a.m. The day’s events will include a snowboarding presentation\, fat tire biking\, s’mores and hot chocolate\, and snow bowling. You’ll encounter stunning views and thrilling hills on the Top of the World Trail while Picnic Loop and Forest Loops offer more tranquil scenes. It can be as relaxing or taxing as you make it! Afterward\, relax and defrost in the spacious warming hut at the trailhead. \nBring your cross-country skis and plenty of water! It takes less than an hour to glide the trails\, but feel free to make multiple runs. The trails are perfect for all ages and abilities; they’re even pet-friendly! Don’t forget to bring poop bags and clean up after your pet! \nThis program is hosted by Lakewood Golf Course\, and parking fees have been graciously sponsored by the Jim Browne Foundation. DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Mid-Winter 10 Mile Classic will be race #1 for the 2020 Maine Track Club Grand Prix series. Points will be awarded based on performance at each MTC race\, and prizes and bragging rights will be given out at the end of the year at the Annual Banquet. \nThe gun will fire on Sunday\, Feb. 2\, 2020 at 9:45 a.m.  The start and finish lines are at Cape Elizabeth High School at 345 Ocean House Rd. \nRegistration will take place in two waves this year. On Saturday\, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m.\, we will be opening 100 spots for Maine Track Club members only. You must be a member in good standing through race day by Thursday\, Nov. 21\, at 6 p.m. in order to be able to register early. (Click here to check your registration status.) \nPublic registration for the remaining 900 bibs will open at 6 a.m. on Monday\, Nov. 25. We expect the race to sell out quickly\, as it has the past few years.
