DESCRIPTION:This year will be the best ever!  For 31 years\, the end of summer in Eastport\, Maine\, has been celebrated with a festival\, a gathering\, an homage to our local resources\, especially the Atlantic salmon raised in the cold waters of Passamaquoddy Bay. Of course\, no community festival is complete without a meal\, and the Eastport Salmon & Seafood Festival is no exception. The centerpiece of Salmon Sunday has always been the salmon barbecue. Through the years\, the details of the events and the meal — the side dishes and desserts\, the musicians\, the wine\, the servers and cooks — have varied\, but the one constant that brings us back year after year is that delicious piece of grilled salmon. DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for the third annual Skowhegan Craft Brew Festival on Saturday\, Sept. 1\, 2018\, in historic downtown Skowhegan\, Maine. An array of Maine craft brewers\, local food vendors featuring farm-to-table fare\, live bands\, and guided tours of Maine Grains at the Somerset Grist Mill and of Skowhegan’s section of the Langlais Art Trail will combine to make an unforgettable close to summer. VIP hour (2-3 p.m.; requires VIP ticket) will feature specialty brews not available during the general tasting session\, and VIP attendees will receive unlimited beverage samples from 2 to 7 p.m.\, a $5 food voucher\, samples from food vendors specializing in local harvest\, a souvenir T-shirt and tasting glass\, and a swag bag. Doors will open for VIP hour at 1:30 p.m.\, with VIP food options served from 1:30 to 3 and brews poured from 2 to 3. The general session will begin at 3 and run until 7 p.m. \n

SUMMARY:Midcoast Maine 16-Lighthouse Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an amazing 16-lighthouse Penobscot Bay tour!  The tour will visit Egg Rock\, Mark Island\, Baker Island\, Great Duck\, Mount Desert Rock (weather pending)\, Burnt Coat\, Robinson Point (Isle Au Haut)\, Saddleback\, Matinicus (weather pending)\, Heron Neck\, Brown’s Head\, Goose Rocks\, Deer Island Thorofare\, Blue Hill Bay\, Bass Harbor and Bear Island Lights.  If weather conditions prevent us from going to Mount Desert Rock and Matinicus\, we will travel to Owls Head\, Rockland Breakwater\, Indian Island and Curtis Island Lights instead.  There will be a full catered lunch with gourmet deli sandwiches\, fruit\, chips\, cookies\, clam chowder\, soda\, coffee and tea.    Lighthouse Historian and author Jeremy D’Entremont will provide narrative of all the lights and will bring copies of his books for purchase and to sign. During the day there will be many opportunities to take incredible photos of scenery\, wildlife\, islands\, and beautiful Vinalhaven and Stonington Harbors from the water.
