SUMMARY:Wilderness Survival Skills - Bethel
DESCRIPTION:Maine is home to an estimated 17.52 million acres of forest land covering 89 percent of the State and boasts the highest percentage of forest cover in any state in the US. Combine that with access to remote and rugged sections\, thousands of miles of trails and waterways\, and often limited or nonexistent cell coverage and you not only have access to unspoiled wilderness\, but the responsibility to be prepared for the unexpected. Hunting\, fishing\, paddling\, hiking\, and other outdoor pursuits are around every corner and knowing how to thrive in the woods and having the experience to survive an unplanned night or two is important\, if not critical. \nIn this Workshop we will cover: \n\nTrip Planning – Staying Found\nDressing for Success – Layering\nS.T.O.P. (Stop\, Think\, Observe\, Plan)\nThe Order of Survival\nHow to build a simple shelter\nFire building skills\nWays to find and purify water\nFinding and preparing food\nSignaling for help\nCompass basics\nTaking a bearing and how to follow it\nGPS basics\n\nWhether you are new to the outdoors\, or looking to brush up on some survival skills\, this workshop will be a fun and engaging way to be more prepared. All students will leave with a survival whistle\, and more information about hunter education and other programs that will further your knowledge of the Maine outdoors.

SUMMARY:Signature Beer & Barrels Experience
DESCRIPTION:Sample 5 seasonal specialty beers while enjoying the incredible ambiance of The Cellars at Allagash\, our wild and sour barrel aging space located at 100 Industrial Way (adjacent to our public Tasting Room). If you are looking for a more traditional brewery tour\, check out our “Taste of Allagash Origin Tour” which begins in the brewhouse and ends in our wild barrel room. \n  \nThe experience includes a welcome sample of Allagash White. Starting May 1st we are tasting: Floating Holiday – blonde with lemon and sea salt\, Dark Lager with Cherries\, Cellar’s #11 – barrel blend with wine grapes\, and World on a String – bourbon barrel aged amber inspired by an “Old Fashioned” cocktail. Final pour is a “choose your own adventure” sample between two rotating options. There will be time at the end to purchase beer & merch to go\, or additional pours. If you are not a fan of sour beer\, don’t worry! We provide alternatives. \n  \nThis is a production space so sadly dogs are not allowed. If one of your guests is not planning on drinking\, select Designated Driver to purchase a discounted ticket. \n  \n*Sorry\, we can’t accommodate visitors under 21\, even when accompanied by 21+ individuals. \nThis is a Weekly Recurring Event\nRuns from May 1\, 2025 to May 31\, 2025 and happens every:\nMondays: 12:00pm – 1:00pm Timezone: EDT\nMondays: 2:30pm – 3:30pm Timezone: EDT\nThursdays: 2:30pm – 3:30pm Timezone: EDT\nFridays: 12:00pm – 1:00pm Timezone: EDT\nFridays: 2:15pm – 3:15pm Timezone: EDT\nSaturdays: 2:15pm – 3:15pm Timezone: EDT
