SUMMARY:12th Annual Cycle the Seacoast
DESCRIPTION:FUNDING VITAL COVID-19 RESEARCH AND EDUCATION\nNow through June 30\n \n25\, 50\, or 100 miles\nThe American Lung Association’s 2021 Cycle the Seacoast has been reimagined into a virtual Cycle Your Way format now through June 30th! Cycling is a great way to improve both your physical and mental health\, while giving an extra boost to your immune system. We encourage you to participate in the virtual event as this allows you to get outside while still practicing social distancing! \nMoney raised will support public health efforts related to lung disease\, including COVID-19 research. Over the next three years\, the American Lung Association has pledged $25 million to: \n\nProvide free lung health education and masks to those in need.\nProtect public health by advocating for COVID and flu vaccines in underserved communities of color.\nPrevent future outbreaks by investing in respiratory virus research.\n\nWho: Everyone! Whether you are cycling or not\, you can register under the “Cycle Your Way” option and have access to all the fundraising tools\, earn incentives and win prizes! \nWhat: If you choose to participate in the cycling portion of the virtual event\, complete 25\, 50 or 100 miles on an indoor or outdoor bike (or mix of both) at your own pace and in segments if preferred. All virtual participants that raise the minimum $200 (or $100 for ages 17 and under) by June 30th will receive an accomplishment medal and event t-shirt. You also will earn incentives\, including an awesome cycling jersey\, the more you raise! \nWhen: Now through June 30th 2021 \nWhere: Anywhere you’d like\, just make sure to always practice social distancing. Sample routes throughout New Hampshire\, Maine and Massachusetts will be provided starting in April. \nHow: Visit the event website (CycletheSeacoast.org) and find the register button. Choose to either sign up as an individual\, start a team or join a team.  Select the “Cycle Your Way” option. You will receive everything you need to successfully complete the virtual event once you have registered. \nExtras: There will be weekly challenges and giveaways starting in mid-April. Download the free Cycle for Air phone app for easy fundraising\, challenges and GPS recording abilities. Link your personal GPS device to the Cycle for Air app and/or the Cycle the Seacoast Strava club! Join our Facebook group to stay in touch and see where other participants are riding. \nQuestions? Last year\, we switched gears (see what we did there) due to COVID-19 and people from across the globe joined our virtual ride to benefit COVD-19 research. It was a such a success; we’re doing it again in 2021 and would love for you to join us! \nNow through June 30\, 2021 you can cycle your way to raise funds to support the work of the American Lung Association and our COVID-19 Action Initiative. \n\n3 Easy Steps to participate:\n1. Register\n2. Fundraise $250 to support COVD-19 research. We give you your own fundraising page to make it really easy!\n3. SUMMARY:Wildflower Walk in Buxton
DESCRIPTION:Please join Saco Valley Land Trust volunteers and naturalist Cheri Brunault for a walk at Moses Woodman Preserve in Buxton. Cheri will identify and discuss the ecology of our native wildflowers on this beautiful preserve that borders the Saco River. Open to all. The trail is moderate with some steep sections\, and about 1.75 miles round-trip. The pace will be relatively slow as we observe and identify wildflowers and other plants.
