17th Annual Mary’s Firemen for a Cure Race
February 29, 2020
The 17th annual Mary’s Firemen for a Cure fundraiser for breast cancer awareness is on February 29, 2020. For the second straight year, the event will be hosted at Lost Valley in Auburn, Maine! As always, the event will feature the exciting firefighters’ race, but this year, for the first time, teams comprised of ski patrol members from area resorts may also participate. WMTW-TV will return this year as the event’s official media sponsor.
Details:
Who: Any Firefighter, EMT, Ski Patroller and those affected by breast cancer.
What: Teams of 5, in full turnout gear/patroller uniform carrying a 50ft length of hose down a modified slalom course.
Cost: $150 per team ($30 per person). Fee includes lift ticket, registration fee, a chili lunch and t-shirt (if registered by February 15)
When: Firemen’s Race begins at 1:00 pm with registration starting at 12:00.
Why: To raise money for breast cancer patients in Maine and to have fun doing it.
Remember, for every $100 your team raises, one second is taken off your overall race time. The more money you raise, the more time comes off the clock!
Also, $25 lift tickets for family members of racers and race volunteers! There will be live music, locally brewed beer and of course, Mary’s Firemen merch!
