A kickoff to the Kennebec Valley’s “Whatever Family Festival”, highlights include an open-air craft fair on historic Water Street, live music, active outdoor “field day” events for all ages, and the Gardiner Federal Credit Union Fireworks!
5K run/walk, 10K run. This is one of Maine's most enjoyable and scenic courses with unequaled panoramic views of the rocky coast traversing a wooden footbridge across the inner harbor. Start the 4th of July off with a bang with the Friends of the Cobbossee Watershed! "Friends on the 4th" 5K is a forgiving, "feel good" race open for all runners, joggers, and walkers. After a loop through downtown Winthrop, most of the course follows the beautiful eastern shore of Maranacook Lake.
