You don’t have to go far for a ton of affordable and even FREE family fun this winter in Maine. These icy cool deals range from Free ski Friday nights to the “Caravan Car Load” special in which $75 get everyone in the vehicle a lift ticket!

There have been numerous upgrades and enticing deals to be found at ski mountains all across Maine. From new ski trails and glades to multi use Nordic Ski terrain.

Camden Snow Bowl is getting in on the latest glade expansion craze happening across Maine. They are opening Glade number 8 this year and it will be located off Spinnaker. Of course Don’t forget about the 22 annual U.S. National Toboggan Championships are being held February 10-12
Stay tuned for the announcement of the Grand Opening of their Nordic ski trail some time after the first of the year.They can’t wait to run their new tracksetter to set classic and freestyle tracks on the innovative 3K loop and finally bring modern Nordic skiing to the Snow Bowl. This trail should also prove to be very popular with mountain bikers, hikers and trail runners during the non-snowy months of the year.

Lost Valley
FREE Skiing?? Oh yeah…That’s right! Thanks to Lost Valley and Local businesses in the Lewiston Auburn area who have teamed up to give this incredible gift to people. Free Ski Friday is brought to you by local business sponsors who “purchase” the mountain on various Friday evenings through out the season in return for a grass roots marketing campaign. Sponsors look like community heroes as they are included in posters, online eblast, radio ads, create food and drink specials plus other promotional events over the course of the night. Now that’s what Activity Maine calls the NEW SOCIAL media! Check out the Free Ski Friday schedule online at www.lostvalleyski.com.Corporate racing every Thursday Jan 5th to end of season • Saturday nights is TEEN night from 5-9pm $13 Lift ticket $13 Rentals. Although popular for teens every is age is welcome to attend and pay the same rates.

 

Black Mountain
Drawing upon more than 100 years of skiing, Historic Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford is all about families. With tickets as low as $10, Alpine skiing, cross country skiing and tubing are all just steps from a new base lodge. They welcome families to make their own memories and develop a lifelong love of winter sports. The ski school and race program guide first timers and aspiring Olympians alike, and our Nordic trails routinely host high school and collegiate races, as well as national championships. The alpine trails see events all winter long including races, snowmobile hill climbs and four Free Ski Nights. Known for value, Black Mountain of Maine has kept lift ticket and season pass prices low, with a special deal each Friday: $10 lift tickets. Maine children in grades K through 2 receive free season passes, and through the Need-to-Ski program, free season passes are available to many Rumford area children. Key events are the Free Ski Night, Snowmobile Hill Climbs and Winterfest.

Mt Abram
Whether you enjoy skiing corduroy trails or ripping exciting tree lines filled with sweet powder stashes – or maybe doing rail slides in the park or riding beautiful glades is more your style –you’ll end your day feeling the glow of Mt Abram mountain love.
Open 9 am to 4 pm, Thursday through Sunday
Starting December 10th, 2011, we will have special openings for all Maine school vacation weeks and holidays (closed Christmas day)
Thursday is “Bring a Friend Day” getting you two for one lift tickets
Friday is “Free After Three” for all skiers and snowboarders, with the extra bonus of a large delicious “Portland Pie Company” pizza for $5 between 4 and 7 pm. Friday is also “Caravan Car Load” day, getting everyone in your car on the hill for JUST $75. Everyone must be legally belted, of course. Vans and buses not included.
